@TarasTravel I agree. But donations should be earned, not demanded, which is what this developer did (in addition to demanding that I give him all my source code that I wrote so he can put it in his open source plugin). He also filed complaints with ThemeForest for not giving him money and demanded they give him a % of my earnings. Doesn't really inspire me to help him out when he goes on the offensive like that when this is an open source plugin.

Thanks for the advice, Gotequity. Admin of that forum might be able to help me out.
Chris, it's a pity you can't find time to donate a small amount to the creators of the map integration in your theme.

So that's the plugin version, not the version of the actual gmap3? I visited their forum and there are only versions 4 and 5 available.

I haven't played around with the KML Layer function of gmap3, so I'm probably not the best resource if that is specifically what you want to implement.

An alternative approach might be to use either the gmap3 Overlay or Infowindow function along with jquery to add a link that will open your image(s) in a lightbox (check out the WordPress Easy Fancybox plugin). You would need to add the gmap3 function to the necessary template files, and create a custom field (see WP Codex or Advanced Custom Fields plugin) to populate the image source from within your post editor.

If you're uncomfortable or unfamiliar with modifying and customizing the template files to your liking, your best bet is probably to (1) find a programmer to do it for you, or (2) setup a local installation to practice with until you get everything sorted.

Have you posted your question on the gmap3 user forum? They are pretty quick to respond and are good about offering assistance with custom intergrations.

Hi Gotequity,

I need to either upload my .kml file (used by Google Earth) with my images that are overlaying certain areas on the map. Either that or I want to be able to insert a piece of a code with coordinates and an image that is stored in my media library in wordpress, this image should then get linked to that code. Here's a example of how that should look like http://www.planet2buy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Screen-Shot-2012-12-16-at-8.03.14-PM.png If you can help it would really be great! :-)

Hi there,

Unfortunately customizations like this go beyond what I can provide in the forums. Unless another user is willing to walk you through the process, please submit a customization request here: http://themolitor.com/custom

Sadly I seem to be a real noob in this. I thought that adding custom overlay to the map would be as easy as adjusting the code of the map, or simply uploading my own kml file. Really need help with this.

I have found gmap3's documentation page to be a very useful resource. The how-tos are relatively easy to follow with several topics covered (like enabling streetview and custom overlays.)

Depending on your integration and desired functionality, you might need to upgrade to a newer version of the plugin - navigation ships with v3.3 while gmap3's latest stable release is v5.0.

Hi,
As it has been mentioned, the navigator is using gmap3 plugin. Where can I find the options for this plugin? I need to find the source code of the map which is being used. I would like to adjust this code with my own files.
Thanks in advance.
