Just did some research on the "fatal error" and it's due to the fact that the server I'm on is still running PHP v4. I'm going to have to upgrade to v5 before I can get this functioning ... contacting the folks at my hosting company about getting this taken care of ASAP!

Hi - I actually followed the option tree install which then had a "fatal error" as described above and here:

Line 12 of the "class.admin.php" reads as so: private $table_name = NULL;

I'm sure once I got the plugin installed successfully all would be good?

I'm not sure if it's the "Option Tree" install, but I had an "fatal error" in that:

I understand your frustration. I reviewed the theme files and can confirm there aren't any red flags.

Question: Are you activating the theme and then checking the front page? If so, there are additional steps after activating the theme that you need to review in the help PDF file.

As an example I just uploaded another (complex) theme, and it works fine ... and several others for that matter.

Unless I missed something very obvious in the install, I can't figure this out ... I've never made any changes to other theme installs regarding memory allocation, etc. Just FTP upload and activate - I only have one plugin which is "Akismet", and it is de-activated to boot ... really perplexed?

Again, it can mean a lot of things. You really need to troubleshoot this further...

The default theme is very basic and may not require very much memory, or may not have a particular function that WordPress supports, etc. etc..

This is the first instance of a blank screen I've heard of with this theme, so that's why I'm thinking it has to do with your hosting configurations, WordPress settings, or possibly plugins you're using.

Hi Chris ... scanned through them but I don't see anything wrong (that's obvious to me at least) ... what I don't understand is why the standard them (Twenty Ten 1.1) works like a charm, and this one doesn't? I installed the theme on another one of my functioning sites and same thing ... blank white screen ... I'm dumbfounded ... ?

Blank screens could mean a lot of things that don't involve the theme. Anything from memory requirements to server configurations. I'll need you to make sure this isn't a theme-related matter by troubleshooting the issue.

Just uploaded the theme accordingly and activated it, but it's just a blank white screen ... I did the "Preview" option beforehand within the WP admin, and same result ... the "Twenty Ten 1.1" theme works fine both ways ... http://www.firstinpeace.com/

Thoughts?
