For the past year I’ve been building fullride.me, a crowdfunding platform for students. The primary goal of fullride.me is to help students with school expenses. The latest statistic says the average graduate has $37,172 in student loan debt. This is a serious issue that’s only getting worse each year.
Unlike every other crowdfunding site out there, fullride.me is different in that instead of listing a $150,000 campaign goal with a 500-word essay, students can simply list individual items that they need help with. This way students can update the site with their ongoing expenses and donors can choose how they’ll contribute to the student’s education.
Using Stripe, I’ve been able to implement a secure payment system that allows all donations to go directly to the student’s account – less Stripe and fullride.me fees. All server, maintenance, hosting and support costs are 100% covered by fullride.me.
