Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 3 cups flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar together for 3 minutes.
- Add egg and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt and baking powder.
- Add to butter mixture until combined and chill overnight (or at least for 2 hours).
- When ready to bake, let the dough sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Roll dough out to desired thickness, 1/4 – 3/4 inch and use your favorite cut-outs.
- Place cookie cut-outs on prepared cookie sheet and bake 6-8 minutes.
- Cool thoroughly and frost with your favorite frosting.
- Bake at 400 degrees on an ungreased pan for 5 to 6 minutes.
