Yeah, the best way to do that is to upload images on the "media" page. Then on the post edit screens locate the image from the "media" tab and assign it as the featured image from there.

This way the image won't be attached to the post, so it won't appear in the post gallery section.

That's correct. Currently the blog list only displays the featured image.

Most users create a placement image here for the video.

I found out that it actually does this automatically for portfolio pages. However, I came across a new issue. I added a video to a post on my blog page and the video doesnt show up in the preview post on the main blog page. Only in the actual post.

I understand how to include a video in a post, but I noticed on the demo page that the YouTube video size was small on the masonary pages and then large on the actual post page. Where do we set up the sizing for that?
