Thanks for posting this, @adrianhopebailie. I was having the same problem with Yoast, and this seems workaround seems to work just fine.

Hi Chris,

I have solved the issue. Although not isolated the exact cause.
It seems that Yoast somehow changes the value of the $id variable during the processing of header.php.

If you look at the value before and after the call to wp_head() you'll notice it changes when the Yoast SEO plugin is activated.

I simply renamed the variable $welcome_page_id and it fixed the issue so probably some naming conflict.

Hi Chris,

Had the same issue, did this get resolved? Page loads but the upper is empty so I suspect there is something funky happening in the js loader.

I've just installed Yoast WP SEO plugin, and after that my upper was gone. please help
