had the same problem, kinda difficult. But Chris is totally right:
Just click the "add media" button and upload the file. when it's part of your media, don't click "insert into post", just click the X above on the right site to exit. Even if you think, that you didn't insert it to your post, no it's there.
Seems to be the case, that you can't use the media a few times for several posts. should even upload the file you wanna have on the sidebar of the post everytime again.
Kinde weird, but it works.

Thanks. I have no other choice but "insert," otherwise nothing happens at all. I hot "ad media" which takes me to my media library. I then click on the file and the next thing that happens is a window requiring my to hit "insert into post." That's all I can do.

That's incorrect. Uploading does not require inserting. Click the "add media" button and upload the audio to your post. When it's done uploading, that's it. Do not click "insert into post".

Regarding pages, yes, you can upload audio to pages too.

Inserting is the only way to upload it into the post. Can you add sound files to pages?

Is there any way to edit a php file without Dreamweaver?

I've got the Menu and Blog working!

I can add music only to blog posts.

When I add the file it puts a line of text into the blog post which you can see on the actual site. How do I upload the song yet make this songlink invisible in my actual page?

Also, on the slider menu that pops up when you click on the +, when you click on the posts listing it goes to a contact page that I don't have and did not create.

The menu is controlled from your menus page. You can create the top-level menu there.

Regarding the post link, can you grab the post URL form your post list in your dashboard (i.e. the "view live" link)?

I've never seen this issue before where all links point to a specific page (especially one that doesn't exist). You might want to try re-installing as I'm certain this doesn't have anything to do with the theme.

Also why aren't my pages showing up in the top horizontal nav bar? Could this have something to do with it?

Should I delete and reinstall Wordpress through my hosting company GoDaddy? That might help as none of this makes sense. i've been using WP for about 8 years so I'm baffled.

I don't have a problem uploading. The problem is getting it to show up on the site. Any post I try and create with music has this problem. You can't actually see it online because for some reason the page is pointing to a contact page I don't have and therefore shows up as an error page.

In order to have the ability to insert audio into the page, you first would have to be able to upload the song using the method I mentioned. I'm confused how you're unable to upload the song, yet you can insert it into the post. Please clarify what isn't working. Can you provide a link to the page/post with audio uploaded that isn't working?

Also, please keep in mind the theme is not setup to look for audio inserted into the page content. It is only setup to look for audio attached to the post/page being displayed.

Yes, of course, I am doing that but it's not working. My only option is to insert it into the page. The attachment display settings default to link to: "media file." I hit the blue "insert into page" button and it throws the song title into my page where my text is, not off on a side tab as it should. There is no built in player showing up as it does in your demo either.

How do I upload it to a post? Everytime I try the box gives me these options:

-Custom URL
-Media File
-Attachment Page
-None

No matter which one I choose it always puts a link in the body of my page and no songs show up at all.

For audio, you don't need to worry about that. The theme automatically takes care of all that for you. You just need to upload the audio to the post and that's it ;-)

Hi there,

You can still upload audio using the "add media" button in 3.5+ (located above the post content box). When you do, you can filter the media library tab by clicking "uploaded to this post" in the drop down: http://s9.postimage.org/gpfowj0qn/Screen_Shot_2012_12_26_at_10_47_02_AM.png

After that, you can click and drag the music files to change their order (no longer have to enter a number).

and how to manage them.

but since the new (kind of wiered) media library of WP 3.5 look totally differend and it seems there is some funktions missing.
can you help me and explain how I get music into my posts ?

I managed to insert a MP3 into my post, deleted the link and it was attached.
but when I go to gallery section it only allows images to show and dont show MP3 so I cant select more and I cant remove my selected MP3 or change the playing order.
