Thanks for the nice feedback! I'm glad you're enjoying the theme...

Here is the best way to replace images in WordPress themes...

• Make your changes to the PSD.
• Draw a marquee around the part of the image you just edited and navigate to "edit" > "copy merged" (for the logo, it's important no other layers are visible).
• Open the image you would like to replace/change in Photoshop - images are located in the "wpuniversity" > "images" directory.
• Paste the image you just copied into the newly opened theme image and align it with the original layer.
• When everything is lined up, delete the original layer, save the file, and upload to the theme's images folder.
• That's it!

Regarding the calendar plugin, you can use the "upcoming events" widget that comes with the plugin. Just put the widget in the "Home Page Widgets" section.

This is an absolutely fantastic theme and exactly what I was looking for. It rocks!
I'm not terribly familiar with WP, but I was curious, after changing the psd file, how do I upload it to wordpress so that it will work properly?

I've removed the visibility of all other layers except for the header logo that I want displayed along the top section of the banner below the search bar, but it displays only where the text info used to be.

Also, would you be able to help me insert a calendar under the feature post section in the right column?
