Hi there,

I see what you're trying to do. Unfortunately I'm not aware of a method to do that off the top of my head. It sounds like it's quite tricky to implement. My best suggestion would be to submit a customization request here: http://themolitor.com/custom and maybe the guys over at werkpress have the brain power ;-)

Thanks!

Chris

Great, thanks for clarification THE MOLITOR! I knew it will probably end up for something I have to code myself, but here's the reason why I need some images appear on multiple posts:
My page treesonwhite.com is for SEO concerning my Stockphoto Portfolio. I will continually adding photos to single posts related to a topic (for example: photos of a specific tree species). Now, a lot of photos fit to multiple topics. The specific tree species photo might also fit in "Photos of Trees in Germany" Post. With 500+ Photos, this easily ends up having to upload 1500 photos. If I could just select which images appear in which post, it would save me a lot of pain.
But I hear you and I understand your reasons for having it the way it is.

By the way: if you have any hint on where to start coding this, I would be very happy. Nothing specific, mayber "Just look into parsing wp-gallery shortcode from post-text" or something like this :)

Hi there,

Are you talking about Brick + Mason? That's what this thread is in reference to. I'm not sure what you're using music files for.

I think I just misunderstood the function of the gallery. I thought it was directly related to images for the music file but I see now that the image in the top right is for the logo.

Thanks for the quick reply! So far loving the theme!

Best Regards,

Hi there,

With the way this theme works, it grabs all images attached to a post for the post gallery (i.e. all images uploaded from the post edit screen are attached to that post). This is the easiest possible method I can imagine for creating a gallery without having to copy/paste and mess around with shortcodes.

I didn't really imagine a reason for having the same image appear in multiple places for this theme. It's really intended to be a project-focused portfolio. Can you explain the circumstances in which you need to use the same image multiple times? If there's a significant reason for me to re-invision this, I certainly will!

As of now, the best approach is to upload the image each time for each post you want it to appear in.

Thanks! :-)

Chris

I had no problems uploading.. when you're in "Add Media" for Post, go to Create Gallery. There it's now possible to select either Photos from whole Library or just those "uploaded to this post". But of course, this will create a Wordpress gallery inside of the Post, not affect Brick + Mason Post Gallery (which is what I was thinking about)

I just upgraded to Wordpress 3.5 and I am really excited - its now possible to attach multiple Galleries to a post - or in other word, select from photos from the whole Wordpress library to one or multiple posts and have them only in one place.

The thing is.. Brick + Mason does not use Wordpress Gallery selection, but only the directly uploaded photos to each single post. Did someone think about changing this? Haven't thought a lot about it, but would be an awesome additional functionality.. I have a lot of photos I would like to use in multiple posts.
