You can include images within Widgets. Images cannot be 'inserted' into widgets (unless you have a specific plugin that allows you to), but you can use a Text widget and then copy/paste the image code in there.

A trick to grabbing this code is to create a post, insert the image you want to include in a widget, correct the sizing to the widget of the widget area (255 px). Then, flip to the HTML tab in the WYSIWYG, copy the code for the image and paste that into a text widget.

That's how I would do it... like I said, there is probably a plugin that would make this easier, though I am not positive.

Hello,

I was wondering is it possible to add a widget that would incorporate images in the side bar ( blog pages )? I liked how on the sample wordpress site that was shown on Themeforest that the blog pages have 4 boxed images within the sidebar ( in this case were used to advertise other Envato resources ).

I would appreciate it if someone could offer some input.
