You can try either header.php or sidebar.php for that. Keep in mind that manually inserting code will require additional CSS styling.

Id like to add a "donate" button to appear either
1. next to the social media links (bottom right)
2. OR under the tagline (upper left)

where (which templates/css) would I hardcode the html?
