I figured out it had conflicts with the JetPack Widget offered by WordPress. Hopefully I can play around with it more.

My website was working great, but first the slider stopped working then the issues at the bottom just began occurring. I don't know I'd plugins could have caused this, but it's very frustrating. It was working perfectly after beIng customized a bit, but then it all unraveled this afternoon.
