Well, I don't want it to auto play at all. I had a video + reviews page as the static front page, but pressing the play button didn't actually play the file. I fixed it myself. The file size was way to large (400MB). I think iOS timed out or something on the big file. I compressed it to @50MB and it works.

Hi there,

As mentioned in the "Why doesn't the background video play on mobile?"> FAQ...

Mobile devices don't allow video to auto play as they require user activation (i.e. the user has to click "play" for anything to happen). As a result, the background video would not play when the page loads. Additionally, since there is no "play" button, there's no way for the user to activate the background video.

Please understand this is a device setting and not something the theme has control of.

I have a video on the front page that plays fine on desktop/laptop, but won't play on mobile. It's a large file and I have a feeling that's the problem, but I wanted to confirm here.

What am I doing wrong?
