The black background is part of the actual video player, so that isn't something CSS can change or adjust.

Is there a place where the black (background) of the container is specified in the CSS, so that it could be downplayed as white for example?

Hi there,

That's normal (see demo as an example of how the videos are intended to display). The 350 height is a requirement for the main timeline view. Other locations don't have that same requirement (except single post pages have a max width requirement of 650), but to keep things simple, the same embed code is used to display the video in those locations without size requirements.

There isn't a clean and easy way to have the video display without any black bars at all on the site because videos have varying sizes and dimensions.

I'm trying to solve an odd issue where when using a video at the specified proportions (350px tall) for the timeline use, it is displayed with varying degrees of success everywhere else:

On the Timeline, the videos display correctly and flush.

But any video when viewed as a single post, has small black bands on top and bottom.

And any video when viewed within a category page has large black bands on top and bottom.

Is there some adjustment that I can make to fix these issues? Such as maybe slightly lessening the minimum height of the containers to match the specified dimensions for videos?
