Hi there,

Regarding the background, I see the current background color is set to #000000.

You can change this on the Customize page.

Beyond that, I can't think of why your previous edits are still in place. I can only suggest that you reset each option on the customize page.

Yea both are done, but I can tell some edits remain because the page background is still black and not grey like the demo

Maybe try clearing your browser cache?

Also, check the Custom CSS box on the Customize page. That would carry over during an update.

Hi Chris,

So I tried to just delete the current theme and CSS, and only install the update to start fresh..But some of the previous edits are still appearing. Any clue why?

The Custom CSS section should stay in tact with each update. Regarding child themes, you might need to update those based on the new theme update.

And would getting the child theme installed after updating the theme, change the editted files capabilities or structure of the previously done edits?

Hey Chris,
So if I never had a child theme installed but have only made edits to the Custom CSS section of Theme Options panel, these edits should remain through the update process? Or would I have to copy & re-paste in Custom CSS after installing new Eventure?

This is normal. Typically, if you need to make edits to the actual template files, you should be using a child theme approach so that you don't edit the core files. More info here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

Ok thanks. But is this common, having to delete previous folder for the updates?

Also, is there any way to save the changes to the template files? Because this was work I paid someone for and I'd be clueless on recoding it.

If you're referring to changes you made to the template files, yes, those will be lost.

If you're referring to edits you made via theme options panels, those should still be there.

You're uploading the incorrect zip file. You need to unzip the file you downloaded from ThemeForest and locate "eventure.zip" inside.
