To clarify...

*Added custom link option for posts on map - new option on post edit page.

By default, pins on the map link to their individual post page. This feature now lets you customize the link (from the post edit screen) to point anywhere you want. For example, you could link the pin to a category page or to a different website all together. This applies to every map the pin appears on (i.e. home page, category page, etc.).

* Added category option for home map - new option on Customize page.

By default, the home page map displays ALL posts that contain location data, regardless of category. Now, you can select a specific category of posts to display on the home page. This is especially useful if you want to only display posts with custom links that go to various category pages (i.e. posts linking to specific state/country category pages, etc).

Version 2.2.0

This update has the following new features...

* Added custom link option for posts on map - new option on post edit page.
* Added category option for home map - new option on Customize page.

This will allow you to use pins on the home page to represent categories by linking the pin to a category page instead of a post page. You can create a separate category like "category pins" and select that as the category to display on the home page. This way when visitors visit the site, they will only see category pins on the map.

Of course this isn't the only use for customizing map pin links. Enjoy!
