I checked again, the style.css is in the folder, and I can see it in the dashboard (editor)...

I followed the directions exactly (Replace the folder with the new one...)

Just to clarify, the style.css file is required for the theme to function, so there's no way I could even look at the theme to update it if the file was missing.

This is one of the most common issues users experience because the upload/update process can be tricky if you're not familiar with the process.

At this point I've exhausted every way I can think of to explain the process, so my best recommendation is to try and find other resources for how to update/install a WordPress theme.

Tried again to install files according to above link.. no luck. Deleted all theme data and installed clean curator.zip (1.4.5) and still have the same problem, appears not grabbing the style.css

Having two copies installed means you didn't install/update correctly.

Please double-check the instructions and follow each step closely.

I followed the instructions from the link above when updating. I have two themes named Curator on my admin dashboard, one from 1.4.3 and the active (broken) one 1.4.5

That's correct, just do a replacement. After updating, be sure to review your theme options on the Customize page in case there are new options from what you were using prior.

Thanks for latest updates. So, following your instructions, am I to replace the old theme folder named "Curator" with the current/latest folder of the same name? My "old" Curator folder contains other folders, including: Images, Include, JS, and Languages, as well as the separate file "style.css" dated Feb 6, 2014 that you refer to. Thanks!

I updated to the new version and everything seems to have broken. I can't seem to find what changed to cause the scrolling portion to go away. Here is my site, http://www.schallerers.com

Any idea why the menu loads as a list and why the scrolling curator post view is gone?

This update addresses a script conflict issue that affected the layout of widgets and blog posts.
