The second option you gave me works better. Thanks for give me a solution. Anyway , would be nice if in the next version the users could active the timeline categories as simple you had in the version 1.2.4 I think it is a great an useful tool.

Best regards

If that doesn't work for your needs, another option is to have all categories display in timeline view like this...

1. Open "archive.php"
2. Change the following on line 10 from this...

if (is_category($timelineCategories)) {$isSameCat = "yes";}

...to this...

if (is_category()) {$isSameCat = "yes";}

Let me know if either of these methods work for you.

Best,

Chris

Hi there,

Would making it so that child categories of the timeline category display with the timeline layout work? If so, here's how you can add this functionality...

1. Open "archive.php".
2. Change the following on line 5 from this...

$timelineCategories = get_option( 'themolitor_timeline_category');

...to this...

$timelineCategories = get_option( 'themolitor_timeline_category'); $category = get_category(get_query_var( 'cat' )); $category_id = $category->cat_ID;

2. Change the following on line 10 from this...

if (is_category($timelineCategories)) {$isSameCat = "yes";}

...to this...

if (is_category($timelineCategories) || is_category() && cat_is_ancestor_of($timelineCategories,$category_id)) {$isSameCat = "yes";}

All you need to do now is make sure the categories you want to display in "timeline mode" are child categories of the main timeline category. Let me know if that works for how you have your site setup.

Best,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your answer. As you can see in my site: http://www.morenohoffmann.com
that feature is very important because allowed me to show the differents stages of my work with the same timeline view which is very nice (paisajes - cuerpos - transición), the older version give us the users, more flexibility in building the visualization of the site, the horizontal view in diferent categories is the reason why I chose this theme.

I would appreciate if you put it back so I could upgrade the theme.

Thanks a lot!

Hi there,

I didn't think this was a utilized feature, so I opted to just have the main timeline category selection. How do you have your timeline setup? Can you provide a link?

If this is something users make use of, I'll definitely put it back.

Thanks!

I just updated the new version of the theme (1.3.0) and I did not find a way to change the timeline view to others categories apart of the main. In the version (1.2.4) I was able to do that in Timeline Categories on the Options Theme. Could you explain me how I am able to change the timeline view for the others categories in the new version of the theme?

Thanks a lot!

Theme options are now controlled by the WordPress theme customizer.

The old OptionTree framework has been completely removed, so updating should be a breeze. Theme options are accessible from "appearance" > "customize"

TO UPDATE THE THEME:

Download the latest version of the theme from your downloads page on ThemeForest.

Using an FTP tool, navigate to the themes folder in your WordPress installation.

yourdomain.com > wordpress folder > wp-content > themes

Replace the old theme folder with the new one via FTP.

You'll need to re-enter your theme settings on the theme customizer page.
