Yes, I wrote into the gallery that the featured image gets excluded as most users don't want a poster in their image gallery.

Ah, and curiously, the whole effect does NOT happen for the "featured images" !!

Interestingly, if you add an unattached image to the post, it now becomes attached, as I said, but then if you delete the image from the post, it stays attached, which means IN the gallery.

So, in a way, this is a way to control the gallery while NOT having to put the images in the post itself.

Actually, that is quite good!

My suggestion would be Chris, in the next version of the Producer, that the user can control the gallery and decide which images go in or not. I think it will make the Producer even more professional (I DO like it) and after all, that is what we want as pros...control!

Hi there,

This appears to be a side effect of a recent change in WordPress as that didn't use to happen. As a result, since the theme uses the attachment feature of WordPress to control the gallery, you'll have to manually enter images into the post content if you don't want them to appear in the gallery.

Using the "text" editor (not the "visual" editor) on on the post edit screen, the markup should look like this...

<img src="http://url-to-image-here" alt="This is optional text in case the image doesn't load." />

Hi Chris!

I do exactly as you instruct: upload the image through the Media Page, then open the post edit page and then insert it there. The moment I insert the image in the post, it turns from Unattached to Attached to this post in the Media Library!

Can you advice??

When in the 'add media' pop-up window, you can select/click images and then click the "delete permanently" link on the right-hand side.

I re-read and searched all over and I don't see an answer to my question.... Which is: how does one remove images from a gallery? let's say you placed images in a gallery but find out that a few were the wrong images?... How do you remove them? it's clear how to place them... But Is there NO remove image function? Do I have to delete the post and repost the post and the correct images?...

maybe you answered this, and I'm totally missing it... but how do I delete images from a gallery without deleting them from the media library - I mean, it's easy to add.... but I am not seeing a way to select and delete individual images...

Hi there,

If you want to show images in the text area of the post, but you don't want them to appear in the gallery, be sure to upload those images from the media page (not the post edit page, so they don't get attached to that post).

After you upload the images on the media page, then you can navigate to the post edit screen and click the "add media" button to insert the image(s) into the post content area.

Is there a way to get rid of images in the gallery while still having them in the post? For Example - if I place laurels for films into a post, they are then automatically placed in to the gallery, which is unwanted.
