That's definitely a WordPress/hosting-related issue. The demo file you're importing was generated by WordPress too. Here's another copy you can try that I freshly exported from WordPress: https://www.dropbox.com/s/smmkec5kafnh5zz/kitchen_demo.xml

If that doesn't work either, my best suggestion is to search the WordPress forums for a solution: http://wordpress.org/support/

Just to reiterate, this isn't a theme-related issue as the import feature is a core WordPress feature (the demo xml file is also a WordPress generated file). I have limited knowledge of core WordPress issues like this, so this goes beyond my ability to troubleshoot. I sincerely hope you understand.

I didn't even make it to that page which says download attachments. It returns a blank page right after I choose the demo file & hit import. It's a basic intallation of wordpress with no data.

Thanks for posting in the forums! :-)

When going through the import process, did you check the box that asks if you want to download attachments? Be sure to check that box.

Please keep in mind, the import process is not a theme-related thing and any issues are ultimately issues with your WordPress/hosting setup. That said, I'll try to troubleshoot with you as much as I can, but you may end up needing to search the WordPress forums for a solution here: http://wordpress.org/support/

Let me know if you checked the box. Also, even though you end up with a blank page, do you not have any content added to your database? Have you checked the posts page? Lastly, have you configured your settings on the customize page?

Hi,

I asked for support on TF as well. I tried importing the demo file but it lands on a blank page. Help?
