My only feedback would be that the down below part looks so good that it would be cool to be able to customize just on it's own. But it sounds like the featured image thing is just how Wordpress works. Thanks for your help and quick replies.

The posts are set as gallery. I have just tried to make portfolio post and i see that i can't set those posts as sticky. Is that by design?

Hi there,

Make sure the posts you're featuring do not have the "aside" or "quote" post format assigned. Only "standard" and "gallery" post formats are supported for the featured post section.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but i'm also having trouble getting the frontpage stiky section work. I've set two post as a sticky and the posts has assigned a featured image. What could be the problem? I have to say that de section below works for portfolio's posts with the next and previous function.

Since WordPress only has a single featured image option, currently it's all or nothing when using featured images.

Does that not work for you? If there's a good reason why another image option should be available, please let me know. I'm always open to feedback.

That's helpful, I've seen all 4 like you say. So, as I understand it then it's impossible to use a background image as a 'sticky footer' at the bottom without at least 1 and 2 triggering as well. Is this correct? Or is it possible to do 3 only by itself?

The featured image is used in 4 places:

1. On category/archive/search result pages where multiple posts are listed.
2. As the header image (not the body text) on individual pages.
3. As the background image for sticky/next/prev footer posts at the very bottom of the page.
4. If you're using the "Gallery" post format, the featured image will appear in the gallery image grid.

Ok cool that worked. It also puts the same image as a feature in the main body of the page. Is there anyway to control that image down below without affecting what appears in the main body of the page? (I'm trying to customize the images down below and keep them the same on every page without changing the main content in the body of any individual pages.)

Trying to use the "stick this post to the front page" option to control what images appear at the bottom when you scroll down. It's not working, so I'm doing it wrong. (wordpress n00b) Used the 'add media' button to upload my image choice, but it just appears up above in the body of the page. Trying to customize images and text in that cool bottom part. Instructions would be appreciated. Thx
