Hi there,

I see the following CSS being loaded...

#topBannerContainer,
.kk-star-ratings .kksr-legend .kksr-title {
    display: none;
}

This is the reason for the nav bar not appearing. If you're removing that on the back-end, any existing issues definitely means your site has a caching system that is loading an older version of your site markup (i.e. with the above CSS still included).

Regarding menus flashing, my best guess is that you have some CSS that forces the menu items to display until the site scripts kick into gear. I'm not sure though. Unfortunately there are too many customizations to this site for me to troubleshoot issues like this. If you need help addressing stylesheet issues, I'll have to ask that you revert to a default setup with the theme with your Custom markup removed.

Best,

Christopher

Hi Christopher,

WP Engine says that the cache is updated every 10 min.

Could a possible cause for the top banner only appearing on the backend of the site and not appearing on the actual live site be due to a conflict with plugins?

Also, whenever the site is loaded, the menu pauses and flashes the sub menu items . . . is it possible this is a Wordpress problem as well?

Thanks so much,

Looking at your source code, it looks like you're using a WP Engine caching system. This is likely why you're not seeing your changes being applied to the live site.

I recommend visiting your WP Engine dashboard and look for the clear cache option.

Please note this is not a theme-related issue, so my support services are limited to only what can be fixed via the theme.

Best,

Hi there,

1. WordPress only supports the sticky post feature when using the default "all posts" function on the home page. Since The Daily Press is using a custom function to list all the posts on the home page, the sticky feature is not accessible as determined by WordPress.

2. Maybe clear your browser cache? Can you provide a link to your site for me to review?

Best,

Christopher

Hi Christopher,

I have a couple of questions . . .

1. Is it possible to make a sticky post for an older post? I would like an older post to now, always, appear as the first or "Featured" post.

2. For quite a while the Top Navigation Banner wasn't needed and I used CSS to hide it. But after deleting the CSS, I can see the Banner in the Dashboard but not live. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much,
