I am having a similar problem. The website I'm referring to is http://www.andreacjohnson.com. The pics are not appearing on the main slider or the thumbnail. When you hover the mouse over the pic, it will show the name of the article, but no picture is present. My host uses PHP5 and has GD Library installed. I'm new to web development, and I have no idea where to look for the "cache" directory. Where is it located, and how can I ensure GD Library is installed?

Thanks

If the post your working is both a featured item AND a blog post (with a thumbnail), then the image URL you provide will have two sizes automatically created. In this case, it's best to size the image for the featured section.

Just to clarify, the ""cache" directory was automatically created and there are images within it?

Even when I past the URl to a 150x100 thumbnail into the Custom Post Options, it still doesn't appear as a thumbnail.

"Enter the full URL to the image you would like to use to represent this post. Slider image is 700x330 and post thumbs are 150x100."

Does it recognise that an image of 700x330 is to be used as a slider image, and a 150x100 as a thumbnail, as there is only one area to paste an URL.

I noticed that the images you're trying to use are VERY large. Try making them as small as you can (not literally, but within reason) and that should fix the issue you're having.

Regarding the categories in the navigation, if you're not going to have anything listed, open "header.php" and locate/remove the line containing the following:
<?php wp_list_categories(...);?>

Hope that helps!

Hello Mr Molitor,

I've followed your directions, making sure that GD+ is installed on the server, checking to see that the thumbnails are being generated within the cache folder. All that seems to be fine, what I still cannot get is the thumbnails or the main image to appear on the website.

I'm also not sure why I *have* to have a category shown on the navigational bar, but if I remove it, it displays in quite ugly text 'No category'.

I've made a post, uploaded an image and assigned it into the category, but still nothing.

Please help. Pretty please with cherries on. Just trying to provide a friend with a nice simple layout for their artwork and so far it's not been at all simple.

Thank you,
Jamie.

p.s. The site I am working on is http://www.sarahhorton.co.uk/
