You could create a category, say "Portfolio", and create sub categories, such as "interiors", etc. Add posts to each category it belongs in. Within the post content, you can insert a gallery of images via the "insert gallery" option in WordPress (see help file for more info).

Hi I am wanting to know if it is possible to do this:

I have a page heading - Portfolio under it sub-pages
Interiors, Commercial, Residential, Multi-Residential, Institutional.

I want to put a series of project thumbs under each sub page (interiors etc. etc.) Can you have a series of thumbs in pages and how do I do this.

What I want to do then is when someone sees an images in the page they like (like a nice house we have designed) if they click on the thumb I want another page to open which shows all the images (thumbs) for that project. Then I want the thumbs to open to a large image.

Is any of this possible? The site I am trying to create is very image based without a lot of text and I don't want people to be able to post comments but provide images and info about ourselves.

Hope you can help as I am new to WordPress and have only a little Dreamweaver knowledge.
