Hi there,

With The Producer, posts should be used for specific video projects and/or blog posts.

Only posts have the "tabbed" feature under the video to display additional content. Pages don't have that feature, so I wouldn't recommend using pages for video projects.

In this theme, pages are best suited for "about us" or "contact us" types of content. Stuff that isn't time sensitive or involving a specific project should be a page.

Hope that helps!

Chris

Hey Chris,

I have just spent an hour reading word press forums and definitions as well as watching videos on the difference between pages and categories and I am still lost as to the difference between the two. I'm using "The Producer" theme which I love, but I am unsure if I am designing it correctly or if it even matters that I use either pages or categories for each section because they look and feel the same to me for what I am doing. All my sections in my menu right now are Categories. On each one I am going to have sub-categories, but I am not sure if those should be pages. I am using the site to show lots of video content. Each link will have commercials and other videos included in it. From your tutorial, I already figured out that each video needs to be a post, so I understand that, as well as where i insert all the credits, descriptions, and images. It's whether or not I should be using a page or a category for the main menu buttons and buttons on the drop down under each main link. If you could explain it to me, hopefully in a way which I can understand, that would be very helpful to allow me to keep cranking away at this website.

Thank you,

Jeremy
