Hi there,

I don't believe this is a theme-related issue as the date is generated by WordPress, not the theme.

One way to check is to open up single.php and change the following on line 9 from this...

get_template_part('meta');

...to this...

<small class="metaStuff"><i class="fa fa-clock-o"></i><?php the_time('M j, Y') ?> <i class="fa fa-comment"></i><?php comments_popup_link(__('No Comments &rsaquo;&rsaquo;','themolitor'), __('1 Comment &rsaquo;&rsaquo;','themolitor'), __('% Comments &rsaquo;&rsaquo;','themolitor')); ?> <i class="fa fa-user"></i><?php the_author(); ?></span></small>

The date for my first post is wrong (http://derekkiszely.com/2014/01/09/hello-world/). It says it was published on January 9th, 2014, but that can't be possible because I just bought this template today...

In the "settings" section, it shows the correct date (March 5th, 2014), but behind the scenes it somehow thinks it's January. This is also screwing up the election countdown timer.

How can I fix this?
