With the most recent version of the theme, since all the theme options stuff are built into the theme, activating the OptionTree plugin can cause conflicts/problems. Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure everything that is affected as I'm not a plugin developer.

My best recommendation is to use phpMyAdmin and make sure you remove all traces of the theme options plugin in the wp_options table, as simply deleting the plugin is not enough.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I upgraded wordpress itself to the latest version 3.4.2. When I first put in the theme I had the plugin for Option Tree. Then later removed it and removed any traces of it in the options table. So, theoretically, I should see the options for the theme but it still shows up blank. I'm guessing that something is hiding in the options table(?) that didn't get cleared out. How do I even troubleshoot this?

Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean. Are you trying to upgrade the theme from an older version or are you upgrading WordPress and ran into these problems?

I suspect the problem has something to do with my recent Wordpress upgrade. I'm now having other problems that, well, should not occur. Now I just have to figure out how to get six years worth of blog posts into a new install.

I've deactivated and reactivated several times.

Anything else I should check for? I've looked through wp_options and removed anything referencing option_tree and I've gotten rid of the plugin itself.

I'm having the same problem, that is, the Theme Options are blank. I uninstalled the Option Tree plugin, removed it, and found some entries in wp_options and removed that too. I upgraded to the latest version of WP (3.4.2). Is there something else I should check?

@ akaandrew I believe Fantastico uses OptionTree built in(so resetting the options table would have also worked)

its an issue with how optiontree register things, its only meant to be used in clean(fresh) installs

Just fyi

I couldn't resolve the issue on my original install, which was done via Fantastico (the OptionTree plugin wasn't active). When I did a fresh install without Fantastico, the issue disappeared.

if you guys have the OptionTree plugin deactivate it, if you have it activated before the theme was installed you need to reset your wp_options table via phpmyadmin or whatever database management your host provides

I've deactivated the optiontree plugin.

I'm in theme option. Do I create a new layer? I already have there Home-Page

1.2 is the latest, deactivate the optiontree plugin

I have what I bought Version 1.2.0 of the theme. Yeah I heard that you didnt need the optiontree plugin in the walk through video but I guess I don't have the latest version?

do you have the latest version installed? as it doesnt require the OptionTree plugin

When I try and set up the theme in OptionTree and save it, it seems to not save the settings.

When I go to theme options, there is no home page. it has 'new layout'..

You don't have the theme set up, you need to set the options and add content to WordPress(if none is added)

Appearance -> Theme Options -> Home Page to set the categories

Hi,

I have uploaded my new 'The Daily Press' wordpress theme via ftp and have installed the plugins after I had activated my theme but my post have not been going to the homepage. Under recent post, if you click on that it shows but it doesnt show in the homepage feed.

What am I doing wrong or not doing? This is just installing the font, it shouldn't be this difficult?
