Hey Leah, apologies for the slow response - I've been out on vacation. You can absolutely add a background to your main navigation links, but it requires some CSS knowledge.

This link might help you with the actual coding of it: http://www.w3schools.com/css/tryit.asp?filename=trycss_link_background. Within your CSS file, or using the Custom CSS box, you're going to look for #dropmenu li a {.

Again, if you don't have CSS experience, I would suggest filling out this customization form as it isn't a terribly complex customization, but still a little tricky: http://themolitor.com/custom

Does anyone know if this can be done with css? Or will it require customization?

I was wondering if I could style the main nav so that each menu item has a black background with white text. I don't want a black bar across the entire nav area, just around each individual menu item. Does anyone know if that be done by inserting some css in the OptionTree "Custom CSS" box?
