Hi there,

I'm happy to continue helping, but please don't be rude...

Regarding the "single menu item for a single video" issue where the video background is playing instead of the post image, can you link me to that specific page? I'm not seeing any issues like that when I navigate your site, so I'll need an example of the issue so that I can troubleshoot it.

Regarding your second posted item above, currently only the "video + reviews" shows a single video.

Best,

Christopher

Passive-aggressive? A-D-D? Will ALL UPPER CASE repetition do anything? Don't look at my site for a way to ignore what I wrote; anyone visiting this thread would see a strange avoidance of clearly written issues being brought to your attention (gives a bad impression of your support).

Same texts I originally wrote, verbatim (until you give in to reading):

Similarly, my goal was to create a single menu item for a single video, TRAILER. Yet my video background for the homepage plays continuously there, instead of the poster frame for the Vimeo clip. Worse, after following these instructions to set a Featured Image, it also does not display: just the video background... I switched from a Vimeo clip to a YouTube clip and suddenly the overriding video background EVEN ON A NON-VIDEO+REVIEWS PAGE went away, despite having a Featured Image. Still a bug...

AND

A related problem is the fact that your help guidance (online + YouTube tutorial) do not explain how it's possible to let a TRAILER menu item simply show one video ... indeed, the trailer full-screen ... rather than every video post created at the WordPress site. If I change to a category view, then I don't get the necessary effect of full-screen video.

Not trying to avoid anything, so please let me know if I'm missing something. I'm not seeing any issues on your site, so if a configuration you were/are using is causing an issue, please link me to it so I can review.

Actually, in the interim, having already begun with an understanding of those two options, and still seeing the problem I mentioned, I switched from a Vimeo clip to a YouTube clip and suddenly the overriding video background EVEN ON A NON-VIDEO+REVIEWS PAGE went away, despite having a Featured Image. Still a bug, but moot for me now in the interest of time.

Then there was the whole second, larger problem mentioned in the latter half of the above post...

Hi there,

Just to clarify...

You have two default options for the background: (1) image slideshow or (2) video playing continuously with no audio.

Featured images display in the following palces: (1) thumbnail above post listing pages like categories and search results, (2) as a background image for single post pages and the video page template -- like the one you currently have assigned to your home page.

Please note: featured images DO NOT display on the "Video + Reviews" page template that is currently in use on the demo site home page.

To have a video auto-play in full-screen, you need to have the "auto play" box checked on the Customize page.

Please let me know if that helps.

Best,

Christopher

Hi there,

The "videos" page template is intended to display the featured image of the post OVER the background. That is by design and is the correct behavior that you're experiencing.

When you refresh the page, you're probably seeing your video play because of an error grabbing the image from youtube/vimeo.

I recommend uploading/assigning a featured image for all of your video posts to make sure the image is properly loaded and displayed.

Just to clarify, only the "review + video" template displays a play button with the background video playing.

Hope that helps.

Best,

Hey there, I am attempting to mimic what the demo site shows but am experiencing a strange glitch.

• I have set a looping video as the background via Customize -> Video Background.
• I then went and created a video post and used a Vimeo video code.
• My static front page is a page I created using the "videos page" template.

When I go to my homepage it shows the play button over top of a still of the Vimeo video and not my video background. The strange thing is that when I click any of the logos on the homepage (which I see are auto linked to the homepage) it refreshes the correct way- my looping video plays with the play button on top of it that when it is pushed, the Vimeo video plays. It also loads correctly using Safari. My issues have been in Google Chrome.

I have not loaded any extra plugins or added any custom code. Any help? Thanks!
