Was confused about relationship between pages and menus, but now I understand (yes reading the help file does help!) - recreating the menus and linking to existing pages is the way forward.

Try recreating the menu in Nocturnal through Appearance > Menus...I'd say it didn't translate from your previous theme because they're created differently in each theme.

I don't think you can reset the layout...maybe just create a new wordpress installation on your hosting space?

General web-design newb so please forgive utter lack of knowledge/understanding etc.

my website:
http://www.darkarps.com (you may see the "old" or the "new" site depending on where I am at trying to figure this out)

I was using the Piano Black theme and had crudely modified it to my needs. I saw Nocturnal on ThemeForest and saw how I could adapt the current layout to the Nocturnal demo I saw in action on TF... so I purchased and installed as per instructions, and had no "broken theme" or "stylesheet missing" error messages... so far so good. But then when I try to view the website, it does not translate at all to the new theme. I was expecting my "Pages" from the previous theme to translate to nav tabs across the top of the screen, for example... but there's nothing at all across the top, only previous blog posts can be cycled through using a mini slider.

tbh I'd just like to start with the layout I saw in the demo and re-populate the pages, blog posts and so on with the old content, copy/paste style. Is there any way to "reset" the layout?
