Hello, Please forgive my ignorance, I am trying to change the default display as well, but am having trouble locating the postLayout.php file. I am in file manager of my site (Bluehost) and have tried looking around but can't find it. Could you help out by dumbing down the step by step a notch or two? : )

Sure thing! Using the instructions I posted above, you can replace "featLayout" with any of the following...

listLayout

featLayout

gridLayout

gridLgLayout

fullLayout

Hi Chris

I have had different responses on what should be the default layout view - some think that most users wouldn't notice there is an option to change. So I was thinking of swapping the layout around a few times. So could you provide all the different layout codes please.

Hi there,

To change the default layout to standard view...

1. Open postLayout.php and move the "activeLayout" class name to the "featLayout" item.

2. In index.php on line 21 and in archive.php on line 3, change the following from this...

<div class="listing gridLayout">

...to this...

<div class="listing featLayout">

Hi, I am wondering if the first time a new viewer hits my site, which grid view is the default? Is it the standard view? I like that the best for the first look at the posts.
Let me know if there is a way to make it the default if it isn't already.
