how did you take the counter out of the theme?

what exactly are you trying to ask by saying 'kill' the counter

hey,

i have a problem with the counter.
i take the counter out of the theme, but at the events up to 12.12.2012 are the counter back at the event. Why?

What is the right way, to kill this counter all times?
