Figured it out...edited the social.psd layers, uploaded my version to wp-content/themes/wpbm/images. Then edited the 'title="whatever"' in the socialicons section of footer.php. Hopefully that's all I need to do!

Another question...where might I look to change the labels for the social icons, so I could repurpose ones I don't use (like skype or myspace) to point to google+ and/or email?
