Hi Chris,

I'm having a big problem with the loading times of my site (www.mychinaroots.com). it's a company site and my target audience is spread throughout north america, europe, east and southeast asia (i'm based in China myself).

i've already tried using plugins such as WP super cache, (advanced) lazy load, improve my load times, and W3 total cache. the plugins certainly help, but it still often takes more than 20-25 seconds to load a page. the slow load times are especially the case with the "non-home page-pages" and when you click on a city on the world map of the homepage.

i have also now tried two different servers (the server for http://www.mychinaroots.com is a virtual shared cloud in the US, the other cloud server is based in Hong Kong: http://www.beaujolais-china.com/mcr/). the load times in both cases are slow and don't differ much. Overall, people in the US say the load times of the site are okay, but numerous people in western europe and some in southeast asia say it takes long or they stopped trying after waiting in vain for a page to load. here in China it's erratic, one day it's fine, the next day it takes way too long.

there also doesn't seem to be a clear connection with the browser type. for instance today, google chrome goes fast and shows no problems, while IE and firefox take much longer. tomorrow, it may be the other way around...

could this problem have something to do with how the template is designed? two specific questions:
- what is the sequence for loading the different pages, is it perhaps the case that every time you open one page, it first has to load the homepage from scratch...?
- were there specific plugins that were used for the design of the non-home page-pages that perhaps contribute to the long loading times?
