You can embed them in the post content, but videos are not a supported feature for the category/post listing pages.

Alright, but that doesn't help. I didn't undestand a thing you wrote there. I'm an author, not a developer. Is there no other way? Author pages must have videos these days, especially video book introductions.

Hi there,

The Novelist isn't really setup for slideshows/videos as it's intended to be 100% text in the post area. That said, you can target specific pages and change the column settings to 1 like this...

body.postid-624 .entry {
	-moz-column-count: 1;
	-webkit-column-count: 1;
	column-count: 1;
}

Notice the "postid-624" class on the body tag. 624 is the ID of that post.

Regarding the preview, WordPress excerpts only display text. They do not display HTML markup.

I added some videos and a slideshow (as posts) Problem: the videos and slideshow don't show in the preview, just the heading.
In case of the slideshow, the pictures are cut, one part appears on the left and one part on the right side, although I used the dimensining of 340x340.
