Hi there,

Your source code is showing "10000" (correct) and appears to be transitioning every 10 seconds when I count the timing. Maybe you have hosting-based cache?

Best,

Christopher

Actually: I just plugged in 10 seconds to replace what was there, 7 seconds, but there is no change: the transitions occur after 7 seconds and no longer. I have flushed my WordPress cache and opened the site on multiple browsers using multiple Internet connections. Any idea what's up? http://www.samuelbarberfilm.com

Wow, I had really looked for that, but clearly missed it because of the term "Header Image" which doesn't seem to relate. Really glad to find it's that easy. Meantime, it would help very, very much -- avoiding confusion and time spent looking -- just to include that fact in your help file. Thanks.

Hi there,

You can adjust the pause time via theme options. Navigate to the Customize page and click on the "header images" section. There you'll see a checkbox for "Slideshow Pause Time (seconds)".

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Gosh, I'm really sorry: innocently, I wrote "adjusting the speed of the change" and I can see how you'd interpret that to mean, the actual change's speed! But in my mind, I hoped to convey the other reading: adjusting the speed of the change in terms of how often/how long each picture gets held.

Might there similarly be code to look for, in parallel to your provided instructions, drilling down to the pause specifically? Perhaps there would be the same 2:1 ratio in play.

Regrets on the confusion.

Hi there,

Just to clarify, you're wanting to adjust the transition/fading speed (not the pause time) of the images/quotes, correct? If so, you can do that by locating the following blocks of code in custom.js...

1. IMAGES: custom.js lines 982 and 992...

if(nextBg.length > 0){
	activeBg.removeClass('activeBg');
	nextBg.addClass('activeBg').stop(true,true).fadeIn(3000,function(){
 activeBg.hide();
	});
} else {
	activeBg.removeClass('activeBg');
	firstBg.addClass('activeBg').stop(true,true).fadeIn(3000,function(){
 activeBg.hide();
	});
}

2. REVIEWS: custom.js lines 1009-1017...

if(nextReview.length > 0){
	activeReview.removeClass('activeReview').stop(true,true).fadeOut(1500,function(){
 nextReview.addClass('activeReview').stop(true,true).fadeIn(1500);
	});
} else {
	activeReview.removeClass('activeReview').stop(true,true).fadeOut(1500,function(){
 firstReview.addClass('activeReview').stop(true,true).fadeIn(1500);
	});
}

Notice the reviews time (1500) is half the images time (3000), so you'll want to maintain that ratio when you make changes to keep the transitions consistent.

Best,

Christopher

Although there doesn't appear to be a parameter for adjusting the speed of the change between gallery pictures (which seems to also dictate the speed of the change between review quotes), is there some deeply buried code in a theme file that can be tweaked to adjust that in seconds/milliseconds? Not just a matter of a feature request, but looking for something in the code that can be tweaked now.
