Hi there,

I didn't mean to remove anything from your WordPress installation. I was only referring to theme and plugin related changes.

Thickbox is used by the WordPress admin panel, but the thickbox used by WordPress should not appear in the source code for the theme as it does on your site.

I'm still seeing thickbox in the source code, so work on removing that markup from your source code. I don't have any specific instructions for how to remove it because I'm not sure how it got there in the first place.

Thanks!

Chris

Chris,

I used FileZilla to locate and remove ThickBox folder and contents. I found it here wp-includes/js/thickbox. Do you think it's located anywhere else in WP? I couldn't find it anywhere else.

I removed it and still no difference.

Thanks,

Hi there,

I doubt this is an OptionTree thing. All the OptionTree settings appear to be loading properly (i.e. colors, logos, etc.). This is definitely something to do with a javascript conflict.

I see you have thickbox installed. Would you mind removing all traces of this from your WordPress installation? We really need to completely remove anything that depends on JavaScript/jQuery as I'm certain that is the issue.

Thanks!

I just tried the above suggestion. Unfortunately my problem continues. Could the issue have anything to do with opentree?

Hi there,

I can confirm this is not a theme-related issue when using the default setup of the theme, so that means it has something to do with your particular setup.

Now that you have the right version of jQuery running (I just checked and see it in the source now), please try once again to deactivate additional plugins you have installed and move widgets to the "inactive" section.

Let me know.

Thanks!

If you look at previous messages in this thread, you had me replace that same code.

I went ahead and added the code back. My problem still persists.

Hi there,

Make sure "header.php" has the following on lines 50-56...

<?php
wp_deregister_script('jquery');
wp_register_script('jquery', ("https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.min.js"), false, '');

if ( is_singular() ) wp_enqueue_script( "comment-reply" );

Looking at your source code, the wrong version of jQuery is being pulled. This is likely the cause.

Thanks!

It appears all settings are correct. My categories in theme options for both slider and footer correspond to the correct categories in my slider posts and footer (sponsors) posts.
The number for items displayed for slider are 5 and rotation speed is set at 9000. The number of items displayed for footer is 6. I'm I missing a setting to check? Still the slider doesn't appear and footer bunched to the left.

Hi there,

If you didn't make edits to the index file I don't need you to post the content. The above edit confirms that this is not a theme-related issue but has something to do with your setup. I'm tempted to think that maybe a setting was changed unknowingly.

Have you reviewed the theme options panel to make sure everything is correct and populated? Also try saving the theme options to see if that has an impact.

Thanks!

I tried deactivating all plugins and removed all widgets. I'm still having problems. It must be a problem with the template. I don't think I've made any edits to the template though. How do I troubleshoot the template? Can I upload the theme again and overwrite the existing?

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing the link. I took a look and can see that none of the jQuery scripts are running. If you click the "top" button, it just jumps instead of scroll. This means something is causing a conflict with jQuery. Typically this is caused by a plugin conflict and/or edits made to the template.

Try deactivating your plugins again and remove any widgets you have in use (move them to the "Inactive Widgets" section so they are saved).

Let me know if that helps.

Here's the link http://mxsafety38.org/

1. Yes, here's my plugins: All in one SEO, contact form 7, get latest post, mini twitter feed, posts to page, search & replace, social sharing tool kit. I deactivated all of them and it didn't help.

2. It's hard to pin point when it happened, however when I noticed the problem I then updated WP and a few plugins in hope it would fix the problem.

3. No edits to the template or WP install that I can recall. I did add excepts to the homepage a long time ago but there was no problems.

Thank you

Hi there,

Can you provide a link to your site? It will help me troubleshoot this with you. Some basic troubleshooting questions I have to ask...

1. Do you have any additional plugins installed? If so, please deactivate those to see if they are causing the problem.

2. Do you know if this happened only after making an update to WordPress?

3. Have you made any edits to the theme template files or your WordPress installation?

Chris,

Thanks for responding quickly. I've updated the theme. My problem continues to persist. The site has been up and running without any problems for several months. Just recently while looking at the site, I noticed the slider is gone and the footer distorted to the left.

I tried removing and reloading the featured photos in both slider & footer posts. I checked and verified both slider and footer categories are correct. I also verified my settings > reading is marked "your latest post"

Any help on troubleshooting the problem will appreciated.

Thank you,
Kenny

"Hi there,

Yes, just install a fresh copy of the theme if you haven't made hard-code edits to the theme files.

The issues you're having shouldn't be caused by the theme, so I'm not certain they would be solved by an update. It sounds like the theme hasn't been properly setup.
If you continue to have an issue after updating, please start a new thread and I'll troubleshoot with you.

Thanks!

Chris"
