Hi there,

Images for the nivo slider are 918px x 375px.

Regarding the colors, since IE doesn't support gradients very well, the theme uses the link color as the background color for the slider area in IE. Just adjust your link color to match the slider area and that should work for you (I don't recommend black for the link color anyways).

Hope that helps.

Best,

Chris

Chris! Thanks - I thought I could do all the slider images in one post, and not that I had to create seperate posts for each image. Seems to be working now. Now I just have to figure out the image sizing. Also, why would the site colour show up as black in IE, but show up in blue (which is what I want) in Chrome? You are being very patient with a web challenged old guy. Thanks

Hi there,

You need to create a new post category (posts > categories) and then have posts (with featured images) assigned to that category.

Best,

Okay - the formatting of the countdown helped - thanks!

In terms of the slider - do you mean a slider category created in - Appearance/categories/live widgets - or do you mean a category created in Posts/categories/create a new category?

Thanks Chris!

Hi there,

For the countdown, make sure the format is set to the following...

%%D%% days : %%H%% hrs : %%M%% min : %%S%% sec

For the slider, make sure you (1) have a slider category created (i.e. "Slider", "Featured", etc.), (2) have posts in the category with featured images assigned and (3) select the category as the slider category on the customize page.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hi Chris - I am very much a WP newbie. I installed the politico theme the other day and have started to play with it. One thing I am uncertain about are the slider and the countdown. Are these seperate plugins which I need to install and activate, or should they be installed by default after uploading the theme. Currently I see the Slider and Countdown settings in the "Customize" menu - but they are not active when I look at the website. Am I missing something?
