Hi there,

I'm about 99% sure the speed issue you have is hosting related. The theme really wouldn't have anything to do with loading times like this as it's just html/css that is loading content from your WordPress database. Speed is mostly related to the amount of content you're trying to display and your hosting quality/speed.
