You can have the sidebar open by adding $("#openSidebar").click(); above the "//ANYTHING SLIDER" content in the "footer.php" file.

Can you please show me how to enable the sidebar to open by default, whilst still allowing the user to close it when required?

This is not recommended. The sidebar pushes the main content to the right, so to have it always open means you'll always have 300px of main content not viewable/accessible.

I know that goes against the theme, but for the needs of the customer would like the sidebar always on ... it 's possible?
