They're a combination of Widgets.

1) Ads - Uses a text widget with images embedded
2) Breaking News - Recent Posts Widget
3) Filter by Tags - Tags Widget
4) Newsletter sign-up - Contact Form 7 embedd
5) Like on FB - Facebook widget embedded in a Text widget
