Since the slider is populated by posts in the slider category you specify, pages are not an option as WordPress doesn't support the ability to assign categories to pages.

Regarding the slider date, you can hide it by adding the following to your Custom CSS box on the customize page (appearance > customize)...

.sliderDate {display: none;}

If showing a page is not possible, then I could live with a post, but without showing the date. E.g. I have a cafe with events, but I would like one slide showing images of my menu -but then I do not need to show the date of that post!

I want to mix events from the calendar with a few links to pages in the slider, but it seems to me, that only posts (not pages) can be showed. How can I solve this? Thank you!
