			<description><p>Hi there,</p>
<p>That piece of code is located both in the "single.php" template file and the "page.php" template file. Be sure you removed from both.</p>
<p>Also, keep in mind you don't have to remove the function from the template files to turn off comments: <a href="http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/turn-off-comments-in-wordpress" rel="nofollow">http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/turn-off-comments-in-wordpress</a></p>
<p>Thanks!</p>

<description><p>(1) (8), I think your confused what the font box does, it DOESNT control the logo/site title but rather the body copy, if you want to upload a logo you need to create a image file in photoshop/gimp or any other image editing program and then upload it via the theme options preferable a transparent png file</p>
<p>(6) open your single.php and comment out or remove line 27(note this will completely remove comments from posts)</p>
<blockquote><p>Also, Chris, I found the social media icons but is there a way to have them open in another window rather than directing away from my website? I know I can set links within posts/pages to do that but is there a way to do it with the social media links?</p></blockquote>
<p>youd have to edit the theme files

<description><p>Thanks very much again, Chris, for your help and your patience. A couple of issues are now resolved. Still open are . . .</p>
<p>(1) I pasted the URL from Google fonts, but that changed the font globally on my site (which is fine because I like the font well enough), but I was trying to create a NAME FOR MY SITE and put it in the field that, in the demo, says "The Novelist" in gothic font. I still don't see where to put that! Does it go in Appearance - Themes Options - General? Then use the Logo URL field? If so, how do I create a logo IMAGE? I thought I would just type in some field and that would show the text on the site, but I guess for some reason it's different with that name site field (is it called the "Logo field")? I honestly have no idea how to create an image of a logo (which would be my site's name in my desired font). I understand that it would be on my computer (where I store my jpegs) and I'd create a URL as I would with a photo, I guess, but how do I actually create an image with a URL from my site's name?</p>
<p>(6) I had already tried the "screen options" for each page (again, these are pages, not posts). Page creation pages also have the screen options tab, though. So I UNchecked "Comments" on every page. The only boxes checked are for AddThis, Page Atrributes, Featured Image, and Custom Post Options (which I also tried unchecking). But I still have "Thoughts?" at the bottom of every page. </p>
<p>(8) I can try posting an image as soon as I understand number (1) above -- how to create a text logo URL. </p>
<p>(9) You'll address this later, you said. (I now can see the faint outline of the dropdown box but, as you pointed out, it's black right now.)</p>
<p>(10) You said we'll come back to this after nailing down the other stuff.</p>
<p>So, for now, that leave just number 6, and numbers 1 and 8 (which seem to be connected now).</p>
<p>Again, I thank you for all of your support.</p>
<p>Jim

<description><p>(1) you need to paste the link for the font you want to use from google fonts</p>
<p>(6) its in the post screen(where you create the post) you may need to click the "screen options" in the top right corner to show the check box</p>
<p>(8) you are correct you need to add a logo image (Appearance - &#62; Theme Options) and upload a image file</p>
<p>(9)The menus there but its appearing black(Ill have to debug that later as Im just using a simulator atm)</p>
<p>(10) we'll come back to this one once the other issues are solved(I think some may be causing this)</p>
<p>(11) Appearance -&#62; Theme Options is where all the social icons are set its actually built into the theme</p>

<description><p>Thanks so much, Chris. Again, I love this theme.</p>
<p>So a few of my issues I'm simply out of luck on. Others I will try. For now, I'll refer to the numbers of the issues used above for a little follow-up:</p>
<p>(1) PLEASE forgive my ignorance. I just don't get this. I want to use the site name field and you pointed me to Appearance-Theme Options - Google Fonts. I found that just fine but I don't know what to do when I get there. There's a New Layout button, and fields for Google API (which asks for a "proper link info provided by google.com/webfonts") and Google Keyword (which asks for a "keyword provided by Google for CSS"). Frankly, I don't know which of these fields to use and how to use it. Sorry to be dense, but I can't figure out what to do on that page.</p>
<p>(6) To get rid of "Thoughts?", you advised me to disable the comments on pages/posts using a checkbox in the "admin." Not sure where "admin" is, but under Settings-Discussion, I unchecked "Allow people to post comments on new articles." But I still see "Thoughts appear at the bottom of every page. I really don't want to have that functionality. What am I missing here?</p>
<p>(8) I can post a link to my site. I've been in Maintenance mode because I'm still working on the site, but I'll keep it up until I hear from you. The site is jameshankinsbooks.com. Please note that part of the problem MIGHT be that I don't have anything in the site name field (from issue number 1 above). If I did, perhaps that would create the same space as in the demo. The difference is significant. </p>
<p>(9) I think I see the problem with the iPad issue. I don't have the dropdown menu in the upper left that contains navigation buttons in a dropdown box. There's one in the demo. Not sure how I lost it (if I ever had it) but I need one. Can I put one there? </p>
<p>(10) My iPhone has the most recent iOS before iOS 6 (don't have room on my iPhone for iOS 6 yet -- getting a new phone soon with more memory). But in portrait mode I have no navigation menu, and in landscape mode, I also don't have the nav menu AND the image defaults to a very zoomed-in image. And no, I don't have the problem with the demo. </p>
<p>(11) Last thing - what widget do I use to get the same social media buttons on the bottom of my site that you have in the demo?</p>
<p>Thanks very, very much, Chris. I appreciate your attention.</p>
<p>Jim

			<description><p>(1) Appearance - Theme Options -&#62; Google Fonts</p>
<p>(2) no you cant use tags with pages(this is a WordPress limitation)</p>
<p>(3) the shading should be there in the default, as controlling it form page to page, not possible without some customization to be done</p>
<p>(4) Youll need to use firebug or what not to determine all the fonts areas(sections in code) youll need to edit see <a href="http://www.tutorial9.net/tutorials/web-tutorials/quick-easy-css-development-with-firebug/" rel="nofollow">http://www.tutorial9.net/tutorials/web-tutorials/quick-easy-css-development-with-firebug/</a></p>
<p>(5) not the way the theme is currently setup, youll need to create a page template that would display only one column either by yourself or hiring a freelancer</p>
<p>(6) each page or each post? there should be a checkbox in the admin to disable the comments on the pages/post</p>
<p>(7) youre talking about the + not the x? if so open the custom.js file and edit line 11 where you see the + to the text you want</p>
<p>'jQuery("#dropmenu ul").parent().children("a").append("&#60;span&#62;&#160;&#160;+&#60;/span&#62;");'</p>
<p>(8) can you post a link to your site?</p>
<p>(9 and 10)</p>
<p>what version of iOS? are you seeing the issue in the demo?</p>

<description><p>Okay, so I posted these questions on the Novelist discussion page and was asked me to move them here. (Fantastic theme, by the way!). Anyway, here are several very specific questions (sorry for so many but this is combining several posts from the discussion page). Finally, please note that I read through the documentation and also watched the video tutorials and didn't find my answers.</p>
<p>(1) You know the field in the demo with the site's title in it in gothic font? I'd like to use it, too (with different font). I was told that the solution is in the documentation but I couldn't find it. I've seen others ask this question but haven't seen an answer.</p>
<p>(2) I was told that the Index tab uses tags from posts to build the index. I have no posts or blog. I'm using only static pages and I don't see a place to assign a tag to a static page (unless I'm just missing it). Can I still construct an Index?</p>
<p>(3) How do I create a bit of shading on the right side of the left-hand page (as in the demo) to create the impression of an open book (rather than have a big rectangle of white space)? Ideally, I’d like to be able to control this from page to page. In other words, have it be on some pages of my site but not others. Possible?</p>
<p>(4) Can I enlarge the font for the text globally (at least on each of my pages), and also can I use an even slightly bigger font for the headings on each of the pages (e.g., where it says "About the Author" on that page in the demo? In other words, when a new page opens, and the page layout appears below, I'd like the font on the page to be a bit larger than the default size, and the font of the heading above that to be even a little larger so that it stands out a bit. I saw some post about enlarging the font for posts but it didn't work for me for my pages. Again, I'm using pages and not blog posts. </p>
<p>(5) Can I change a particular page so that it has only one column rather than two? I wouldn't want a global change in that regard but would like to be able to control it so that a specific page or two could be a single column. I saw a post about this but it was a bit complicated and, frankly, I'm not sure that it addressed the issue of being able to have some pages be one column and others be two columns.</p>
<p>(6) Can I remove the "Thoughts?" at the bottom of each page? I disabled "Allow people to post comments on new articles" (per the documentation) but that didn't do the trick.</p>
<p>(7) Where the "x" appears on a tab at the top of the page to bring you to the extra widgets page, can I replace the X with text (like "click for more")? </p>
<p>(8) There is far less room between the top edge of the screen and the top of my site -- i.e., the navigation buttons and the top of the page -- than there is between the top edge of the screen and the nav buttons/page on the demo. I'd like to have that much headroom. How can I accomplish that? </p>
<p>Two more, concerning iPad and iPhone:</p>
<p>(9) Finally, and this is a biggie: when I view my site on an iPad, it looks okay in landscape. When I orient the screen into portrait, the page displays fine but the navigation buttons disappear (so that I have to turn it to landscape to see the buttons again, then turn it back to portrait if I want to see it that way. Is that normal?</p>
<p>(10) On an iPhone, when I view the site in portrait, I also lose the navigation buttons (the same as with the iPad), AND . . . when I turn it to landscape, I STILL don't have navigation buttons/menu, AND the page grows very, very big -- far too big to be viewed without then "squeezing" with my fingers to zoom out. In other words, it defaults to a giant, zoomed in image. And there's no way to navigate around my site because the nav buttons simply don't appear.</p>
<p>Again, so sorry for so many questions. I don't know another way. Thanks very much. I appreciate the support for this theme. And again, I love this theme.
