You can try making it a big smaller there still a little room to play, just back your files up just incase it messes it up

That's amazing.

I read another post here about the majority of viewers having wide screen sizes, but my stats just don't bear it out:

That's 60 days from a city government website we use -- "average" users wanting to know about board meetings, check their water bills, etc. 68.2% have a screen width of 1280 or less.

Anyway -- my 1280 won't show the sidebar? Is there a tweak somewhere I could make to display it for folks >= 1279 (or something)? I think it's done with a media query?

1280 is just at the tipping point, if you move the browser off screen and expand it, you'll see the third sidebar

My browser is 1280 x 800, but the secondary sidebar isn't displayed. :-( I'm probably doing something silly. Running the latest version of Chrome.

also it will drop away around 1200 px so if you monitor is smaller or the browser is thats why you're not seeing it

I'm running the latest version of chrome and my secondary sidebar doesn't appear.

What size browser window is required to display the secondary sidebar?
