Jaqui,

no worries and no, no children for me it was Chris Molitor who had his second little one last monday.

to excluded post/pages in the search you'll need to search the codex for a plugin as thats a WordPress related function note directly a theme.

if you want to modify what the search results page has for content you can open up the search.php and start modifying there.

to fix the spacing issue you'll need to change a few things in the css open your style.css

on line 449 replace this

.noImage {
width: 410px;
}

with

.noImage {
width: 410px;
height: 65px;
}

on line 439 replace this

.postTitle {
background:
#f7f7f7;
padding: 20px;
width: 185px;
height: 185px;
float: left;
position: relative;
z-index: 99;
}

with

.postTitle {
background:
#f7f7f7;
padding: 20px;
width: 185px;
height: 185px;
float: left;
position: relative;
z-index: 99;
margin-bottom: 20px;
}

and then at the very bottom of the style.css add

body.search-results .post,body.search-results .page{
height: auto;
}

Hi Chris,

Sorry for the delay been on holidays! Did you have a baby? Congrats if so!

In response - Yes and the pages listed in the results also appear with a big space too. Also, some content that I don't want to appear (such as slider image posts) are appearing, is it possible to exclude posts and pages from search results?

Many thanks
Jacqui

Hi Justin,

When I use the search function, why do the results display like a post with a blank space underneath. Is it possible to change this so it just displays in a simple list?

Many thanks :)
Jacqui
