i've got a workaround using custom fields instead so no real issue. still interested to know why excerpt didnt work though if anyone knows

i can get author to show up in the map preview box by adding this to script_list.php..

//add ,"<?php the_author() ?>","<?php the_author() ?>" to line 54...

line 54 add(jQuery(this), number += 1, "<?php the_title(); ?>","<?php the_permalink() ?>","<?php the_author() ?>","<?php the_author() ?>",......

//then add chrishd1 and chrishd2 to these lines..

line 76 function add(jQuerythis, i, title, link, chrishd1, chrishd2, excerpt, lati, longi, img, pin){

line 98 var jQuerybutton = jQuery('<div id="marker'+i+'" class="marker"><div id="markerInfo'+i+'" class="markerInfo">'+img+'<h2>'+title+'</h2><p>'+excerpt+'</p><p>'+chrishd1+'</p><p>'+chrishd2+'</.....

So i get 2 lines in the preview box showing author - that works fine.

but 1 really want excerpt and not author.

but if i change one of these - "<?php the_author() ?> to "<?php the_excerpt() ?> it doesnt display the preview box at all.

Question: Is there some rule that you cant use the_excerpt() function in the array ?
