Unless the same thing is happening for you on the demo site (reference: http://themes.themolitor.com/maitred ), it's likely something with your particular setup.

while I was debugging I had disabled all plugins and was just using a brand new copy of the default (non-child) theme. The only thing I can think is that it was something in the database.. sorry I need to keep the site in its current state for the client, I will reset to the error state on a testing link and post asap. thx

The home page you're using isn't the default theme home page.

I see you've made extensive customizations to the theme. Unfortunately I'm not able to troubleshoot issues that may relate to customizations/changes to the template files.

In order for me to troubleshoot, I'll have to ask that you revert to a default setup of the theme in order to determine the issue you're having is because of the actual theme itself and not the result of your changes.

so I noticed my site was freezing with the loader ring in safari only, tried everything, shut all plugins, uploaded new copy of theme, removed all child theme files and no luck

error log:

DOM Exception 3: A Node was inserted somewhere it doesn't belong. in activity.js line 150

against all logic I deleted the line and hey it works now... but I figured I should post
