The logo is working now, but I did have to delete all the logos and start from scratch. It works now though and that is all that matters.

About the desktop inspector, just FYI, I had my devices tethered to the computer and had them in developer mode, so you can use safari on the desktop to use inspector on that specific device (as you hover over the styles in the inspector you see them highlighting remotely on the device.) Seems to work well for sorting these things out.

One thing to try...

upload a slightly different hi-res logo so that you can tell the different and know for sure which one is being loaded.

Hi there,

The retina.js script detects hi-res devices and only serves when the scripts detects the device. I don't believe a desktop inspector would trigger the script like that, which is why the inspector is not useful for determining if the proper image is being loaded.

Like I said, I see your hi-res logo on my iPhone 6, so the script is working like it should.

It is loading the 250px wide logo and not the 500px wide logo@2x

I believe you that you are seeing it though. What would cause us to get served different logos? This happens on my iPhone 6 as well.

Hi again, this was working, and is now not working again. when I load the site on my iPad and check using safari developer tools it is not loading the @2x image.

Any thoughts?

Excellent!

Retina.js requires that the hi-res version of the image(s) be in the same location/folder as the original with the same name (with "@2x" appended to the file name).

It's not 100% fool proof as there are some limitations of this script. You can read more about this script here: http://imulus.github.io/retinajs/

Working. Great thanks. Do I need to do this for every image I would like to be retina? Or can the theme sort that out for me, like the featured images etc. ?

Oh my. Looks like I forgot to actually copy/paste the script into the retina.js file... I'll update that...

I downloaded and installed the theme update. When I load the site on my iPhone 6 and use the develop menu in safari to inspect the logo I can see it is still not loading the logo@2x it is just loading the lower res version.

Any ideas?

Hi Chris, I uploaded the regular sized logo and the double sized one named as you requested, then I choose the smaller of the two in the logo image chooser in the customizer. It is still not loading the retina logo on retina iPad of Macbook Pro Retina.

Any Ideas?

Hi there,

The best approach is to have two logo files (e.g. logo.png and logo@2x.png with double the dimensions) and upload them from the media page at the same time. The theme will automatically check for images with "@2x" appended to the name to use for hi-res displays.

Hi there, how do I upload a retina logo? The logo looks great on most computers, but on a retina iPad or retina macbook it looks quite blurry.
