Hi there,

The image shown in the last link you provided is not properly formatted. You added black bars, yes, but the image as a whole is still square and not 16:9 as Justin instructed. You need to add more space on the sides to make the image a true 16:9 image.

Reference: http://susan-adams.com/shadowlight/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Sensei1024x7681.jpg

Thanks!

Chris

Hello Justin,

I just reformatted all images and put them on a new page with gallery template called "Aikido"
They are 1024x768 at 72ppi.
So this doesn't appear to be the answer.

They are still cropping wrong and sliding up cutting off the heads of people.

Hey there, this is because the ratio of that image is off. Anything 16:9 should display just fine. 1024x768 is an example.

If your images have a portrait landscape, some users add black bars on the sides of the image to make it display as if it were 16:9.

Thanks,
Justin

The responsive layout allows the site to flow up off the top and off to the left of the screen instead of having a fixed top edge of screen (such as twentyeleven) This doesn't feel intuitive, for instance when you unplug laptop from large screen and try to work on the laptop screen. It is difficult to figure out why the image is cropped at the top and left. I can send you a screen cap if needed. Make sense? Do you have a fix?

Thanks much,
