Thanks for the help so far with this issue molitor. I think one last thing and it will be all set. I did as you suggested (Remove line 13 and lines 22-31 in "index.php".) which works perfectly but now my posts repeat six times and I can't figure out why they are doing that.

I did as you suggested and removed the rest of the categories from the home page which is legitimate but it leaves that navigation bar there looking really empty and out of place. I was able to locate the tabs div but am having trouble with what to delete. I am new to wordpress and to web design and I could really use more specific advice. For example, line 13 (<div id="tabs">) to line x (</end div>) or something to that effect. Thanks for your help!

You can locate the nav bar in the "index.php" template file inside the "#tabs" div.
